How these guides are made
Who writes these guides, step by step
We decide what we write, and we decide what goes live. In between, AI tools do two jobs: the first research and draft, and a polish of the language before the final read. Every guide on this site goes through the same six steps.
- We decide what to write. We choose every topic ourselves, from the questions travellers ask and the cities and walks we know, and decide what the guide has to answer.
- AI researches and drafts. AI tools look through official sites, store listings, studies and our own route data, and write a first draft that links each fact to its source.
- We check the facts and write. We open the sources and check every price, opening time, quote and number against them. Whatever we can't confirm, or that wouldn't help you, comes out, and the guide is written in our own words.
- AI polishes. AI tools go over the wording: spelling, grammar, clearer sentences and our house style.
- We review and revise. We read the whole guide from start to finish, mark what's wrong, unclear or missing, and revise it until it's right.
- We publish it. Putting a guide live is our decision, made after that last read.
First-hand details, like how long a queue was or how a walk felt, come only from us. If we haven't done something, a guide won't say we have.
Where the facts come from
- Our own tours. Routes, stop order, walking distances, start stations and paid stops come from the walking tours we make. When a guide uses them, it shares the route and the practical details, not the stories.
- Official sources for anything that changes. Opening hours, ticket prices and rules come from the official site where we can reach it, and every guide lists its sources at the bottom. Prices change often, so check before you book.
- Store listings and company pages for other apps. Comparisons quote other apps' own pages and the App Store and Google Play, with the date we read them.
Comparisons
We make Walk With Me, so any guide that compares apps says so at the top. Those guides say how the comparison was done, name the cases where another app is the better pick, and leave our own ratings out of the tables.
What we don't do
- No made-up people, quotes, reviews or numbers.
- No paid placements: nobody pays to appear in these guides.
- No changing dates to look fresh. The "updated" date changes when the content does.
