About this tour

A Paris bakery is a neighborhood thing, and you only feel that on foot: the queue at the Opéra, the old pastry shop on its street, the prize-winners tucked into ordinary corners of the 10th and 11th. Walking also earns you the next tasting. If you still have appetite for more, three detours are worth another day. Ladurée's original 1862 shop at 16 rue Royale has a tea room upstairs; the macaron is much older than the house, which credits Pierre Desfontaines only with its double-shell, filled version. Poilâne's first shop on rue du Cherche-Midi is closed on Sundays. And Fournil Didot holds the 2026 crown. When you're done, open the Walk With Me live map to find other people out walking Paris right now.
