About this tour
The Seine ties Paris together, and following it on foot is the simplest way to see how the city fits. In about five and a half kilometers you go from Île de la Cité, where Paris began, past the green stalls of the bouquinistes and the long front of the Louvre, through the Tuileries to Place de la Concorde, over the gilded Pont Alexandre III and on to the Eiffel Tower, which grows larger with every step. The river keeps you oriented the whole way, so you can wander off the quays and always find your way back. Stop on the bridges and take your time. If you would like company, open the Walk With Me live map to see who else is out walking Paris.
